Nuclear Bend is a satirical SimCity-style browser game about the real proposed nuclear power plant on the Letart Falls bottomland in Meigs County, Ohio — the Great Bend of the Ohio River. The plant proposal is real; the events in the game are satire. You play the Meigs County Commissioner: the reactor is coming either way, and your job is deciding what kind of town survives it.
The game board is real, too: parcel boundaries come from public county GIS across the tri-county river bend — Meigs County, Ohio plus Mason and Jackson Counties, West Virginia — with real ODOT traffic counts, real FEMA flood zones, and real school districts underneath the jokes.
